Wood Road is one of ten communities located in NSA Annapolis. These historical homes were built in 1903. They are located in the area known as "Hospital Point" and are situated on a hill overlooking the breathtaking views of the Severn River. These homes are usually assigned to Key and Essential personnel assigned to the Medical Division of the United States Naval Academy. They are single family homes which include eight bedrooms and three and a half baths, providing plenty of room for entertaining guests. The front screened in porch is the perfect place to relax and watch the sailboats glide by and the Navy Cadets learn how to handle the PT Boats.The back yards include a great patio for grilling and outdoor dining and are fenced in for your privacy. Each home also has an assigned garage to the rear of the homes.
The Wood Road homes have all been recently renovated and include updated kitchens with granite counter tops, cherry cabinets and stainless appliances. The bathrooms have been remodeled with modern fixtures and lighting. Great care was taken to restore and preserve existing moulding, fireplace mantels, hardwood floors and any built in cabinetry that was original to the home. Most rooms have been wired for cable and phone access. Several rooms have ceiling fans installed.
These homes can only be described as a beautiful and stately addition that grace the "Point" of the United States Naval Academy.
Neighborhood amenities include two pools with adjacent snack shops, several tot-lots and landscaped playgrounds. There are a wide variety of shops and services at the entrance of NSA Annapolis, and Wood Road’s proximity to downtown Annapolis assures easy access to the restaurants and fine shops along the waterfront. The nearby Annapolis Mall and the shopping centers along Rte. 2 offer further opportunities for shopping, recreation and dining. There is a wide selection of K-12 schools in the surrounding area, and the Anne Arundel Medical Center is located just 10 minutes from the Wood Road Community.
