Welcome to Upshur/Rodgers
Upshur /Rodgers Road homes are one of ten communities in NSA Annapolis. These homes are generally assigned to Key and Essential personnel that have been assigned to duty at the United States Naval Academy. These homes line the perimeter of the parade grounds of “Worden Field” which hosts all of the Brigade of Midshipmen Dress Parades. The residents of Upshur/Rodgers have front row seats to all the festivities. These parades are attended by many tourist, family members and high ranking visitors and their guests. This is truly a NAVY tradition not to be missed.
The Upshur /Rodgers homes were built in 1892 and through the years have had a few modifications to the exteriors. When electricity was introduced to the home and other options for cooling existed the sleeping porches were removed from the rear of the homes and of course the original “out houses” were updated to indoor plumbing. Each home is unique but quite the same in most ways. These homes still have the beautiful brick walkways and tree lined sidewalks that add to the charm of this neighborhood.
The Upshur/Rodgers interiors have been recently renovated to bring them up to modern standards. Great care was taken to preserve the historical moldings, hardwood flooring, ornate fireplace mantels and overall charm. Included in these renovations are updated kitchens with cherry cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and all new lighting fixtures. The bathrooms have also undergone renovations adding new fixtures and lighting. Great care was also taken to preserve and restore any built in cabinets and any of the original bathroom tiles. Almost every room in the home has been wired for cable, internet and phone service. Several rooms throughout the homes also include ceiling fans.
These homes all include a screened in porch which can be entered from the front entrance or through the back yard area. The backyards are fenced in for your privacy and have a one car garage outside of the back fence line.

Neighborhood amenities include a pool with adjacent snack shops, several tot-lots and landscaped playgrounds. There are a wide variety of shops and services at the entrance of NSA Annapolis, and Upshur/Rodgers’ proximity to downtown Annapolis assures easy access to the restaurants and fine shops along the waterfront. The nearby Annapolis Mall and the shopping centers along Rte. 2 offer further opportunities for shopping, recreation and dining. There is a wide selection of K-12 schools in the surrounding area, and the Anne Arundel Medical Center is located just 10 minutes from the Upshur/Rodgers Community.
