Policies

Lincoln Military Housing community policies are included in your lease packet.  Should you have any questions or need more information regarding a particular policy, please contact: the district office at (301) 743-6920.

Pet Policies
Cats, dogs, birds, fish, hamsters and guinea pigs are permitted in both communities.  Exotic animals, such as reptiles, rodents, ferrets, hedgehogs, or any farm animals are prohibited in the community.  It is the leaseholder’s responsibility to clean up after the pet.  All dogs are required to remain on a leash at all times while walking in the community.  We do offer a pet park and this is a great place for you and your pet to get some freedom (no leashes required inside the park).  However, the leaseholder is responsible for any necessary clean up.  We have a two pet limit (cat and dog related).  Breed restrictions, please contact site for specific information. Please follow up in the Community Handbook for more information regarding pets.

Move in/Move out
Move ins:
All inbound service members must first contact our partners within Navy Housing in order to be added to the wait list.  Once the service member is added to the waitlist he/she is automatically referred to Lincoln. At this time Lincoln will assist with the remaining relocation process. Navy Housing can be reached here in Indian Head at (301) 744-4317 or in DC at (202) 404-6404.  We encourage all service members in bound to give us a call just to notify us of your transfer.  We recommend this take place as soon as the orders are received.

Move outs:
All residents are required to give at least a (30 day) notice of Intent to Vacate. This form can be filled out in the housing office during our business hours. At that time we will schedule the Pre-Inspection in which we will do a pre walk to assess the condition of the home. During this review, the resident may discuss any concerns about the Move-Out Condition Assessment, anticipated damage charges or other assessments (if any), the overall process, and any other issues of concern in preparation for the final Move Out Condition Assessment. Should the service member be forced to move out (i.e. PCS/EAOS, Medical Discharge, etc.) upon the DM’s approval of the 30-day notice will be waived. (The service must submit orders provided by his command for this to be approved.)
