At this time, the popular recreation center houses a pool, ping-pong table and arcade.  The local Mills Park is the ideal setting for picnicking and barbeques with horseshoe pits, a basketball court and volleyball court available to all. 

In addition, there’s a full-service MWR on base as well as a gas station and popular establishments such as Starbucks and McDonalds, and K-12 public schools just outside the base. 

Nearby city attractions include Sea World, the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the 1800-acre Wild Animal Park, and Balboa Park with its IMAX theatre, science center and classic carousel.
