Nearby Norfolk offers such attractions as the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin and Nauticus—a National Maritime Center with an interactive science and technology focus, along with the Mariners' Museum in Newport News.
Other area musts are the Chrysler Museum, Norfolk Botanical Gardens and the Virginia Zoological Park, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, and the Children's Museum of Virginia—the state's largest interactive children's museum and home of the Lancaster Train Collection.
